I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and currently work at Brazil’s National Education and Research Network (RNP).

I have worked in research and development for nearly ten years, but I wanted a space where I could write without the conventions of scientific publishing. The Blog will be that space. It will reflect my view that computing has much more to do with using your mind to solve a problem than with the computer itself. To paraphrase my favorite computer scientist:

“Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes.”

I also use it to record ideas and experiences from everyday life.

My research interests are broad, but my current studies focus on Quantum Communication, Quantum Machine Learning (QML), and dynamic spectrum access. Under Publications, I gather my academic work.

Under Projects, I share my initiatives—software-related or otherwise—whether completed or still in progress. This is where I experiment with new ideas, such as the Open Career Profile (OCP). Since I also teach Computing, the page also gathers ways of making technical concepts more accessible, such as Operational Stories.
